Theology (ar. 'aqeedah) is, simply, the study of religious beliefs and practices, typically from a particular faith or tradition. It involves exploring questions related to the nature of God, existence, morality, salvation or other core concepts in different religions.
The Muslim's Creed should only be taken from the Quran and the Prophetic Traditions, not philosophy and the likes of that. Additionally, everything that we find God describing himself with should not be likened to the creation nor rejected nor reinterpreted.
The Almighty says: There is nothing like Him; and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. (Q. 42:11, T. Muhsin Khan)
